It's one of those mysterious phases of childhood that, if someone had told you about it before you had children, you never would have believed.  The Trash Truck Phase. Who would have guessed that your little darling would be so enthralled by...trash trucks!

Thank goodness this is Los Angeles, where all things are possible, and the Bureau of Sanitation has kindly organized several citywide events to accommodate their littlest fans.

The Bureau of Sanitation Open Houses feature trashtrucks in action, trash trucks to clumb in and ride around on, and a plethora of information for parents about recycling and proper trash disposal.  Not to mention a free BBQ lunch!  Wear your suncreen and bring a camera!

"The Bureau of Sanitation is hosting a series of Open Houses at your local district refuse yard on specific Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Come join the dynamic duo "Mr. Recycle" and sidekick "Robo Blue" as they jump into action to serve family fun, food and prizes for kids."

Open Houses in the following communities, May-June:

Sun Valley, Northridge, West Los Angeles, Downtown, San Pedro, South L.A.
