Free Museum Days The Natural History Family of Museums and the Pasadena Museum of California Art For hand's on experiences that let children explore the natural world around them, turn to the Natural History Family of Museums of Los Angeles County. This includes the famous La Brea Tar Pits/Page Museum and Natural History Museum, and the little known William S. Hart Museum in Newhall. Page/ La Brea Tarpits Free Tuesday, June 2 Combine this trip with a reading of "Danny and the Dinosaur"...and be sure to go find the latest edition to the fossil family, ZED Natural History Museum Free Tuesday, June 2 If you have a baby or toddler, be sure to visit the Discovery Room! Full of hand's on displays and activities that they can touch. Next to the cafeteria, too. William S. Hart Ranch Museum Always Free! See the buffalo roam (really!) at this former ranch of western movie star William S. Hart. A small zoo, an easy hill to hike, and huge picnic areas make this a delightful way to escape the city and catch your breath. ALSO... Pasadena Museum of California Art Free Friday, June 5 With two exciting new exhibits opening this week, this would be a lovely outing to enjoy with girlfriends...babies, too! PLAN AHEAD Free Day at the Huntington, First Tuesday of Every Month Get ready to call TODAY to reserve your tickets for free day at the Huntington in July! The Children's Garden has fountains, streams, and splash tables that make it a lovely summer destination. Cool Library Events Fun in the Sun at the Central Library Saturday, June 6, 2:00-3:00pm "Get ready for a great summer with stories, songs, poems, and a really hot puppet show." Toddler Storytime at John C. Fremont Branch Tuesday, June 2, 11:30am Heard through the mommy grapevine that this is a good one! Stories and songs... Storytime at Barnes & Noble, Encino (Starbucks!) Thursday, June 4, 5:00 I don't usually put in storytimes from the "big box" stores...but this is at a time of day when moms get desperate, in a shopping complex with Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Ralph's and Pure Beauty. Heaven. And remember... "A caffeinated mom is a good mom." PLAN AHEAD! Get the Beat, Manhattan Beach Library Wednesday, June 10, 4:00pm "Learn all about drums: the art of them and the sound of them with amazing drummer, Marcus Miller." Ages 4 & Up Parks to Try Get wet!
