LA Times Festival of Books...for kids

April 25 & 26

Book lover's rejoice!  The annual LA Times Festival of Books calls all literary lovers to the UCLA campus to enjoy speaker's panels, Q&A sessions with popular writers, performances by musicians, book signings and readings, and the famous outdoor exhibitor booths featuring local literary nonprofits and organizations.

This is the perfect place to indulge your own literary cravings, and introduce kids to their favorite authors.  No, really, introduce them!  What a great way to show kids that REAL people write the words and draw the pictures in each and every book.

Warning...this thing is huge, with marketing doubled this year!  It's going to be crowded!  Be prepared with a stroller, snacks, sunblock, extra diapers.  Grab a lecture or panel discussion at 2:00pm, when junior chrashes in the stroller.

Our Picks for Kids

Robin Price Glasser, illustrator of the Fancy Nancy series

Eric Carle, author of the Very Hungry Caterpillar

Peter Brown, author of the Curious Garden
