Cut Down Your Own Christmas Tree
A Treasured Holiday Tradition

I grew up here in LA, and for years my family has gone out to the Moorpark/Somis area to cut down Christmas trees.

The last four or five years we've gone to Hagle Tree Farm. It's about a 30-45 minute drive from the valley; what a great place!
Just a small family business. They have an intimate petting zoo, snack stand, usually a Santa...and AWESOME helpers! The tree prices are fair, and they are glad to help you cut, haul, and load your tree. Cash or check only...
Here are a couple websites that list them, but they don't actually have their own site.

Pick Your Own Christmas Tree

California Christmas

There are two other stops out that way that are always worthwhile.

There's an awesome, quirky little place in Somis called the Somis Nut House. Just a little shack on the side of the road, but inside is a cornucopia of old fashioned candies, nuts, dried fruit, soup mixes, nut butters, etc. I love putting together Christmas gift baskets here!

Stop for breakfast at the Grinder, also in Moorpark. Just an old-fashioned coffee shop, nothing fancy, but a nice breakfast/lunch stop.

Here's to many more seasons of treasured family memories!
